My name is Fr Rofinus Jas, S.V.D., known by parishioners as Fr Rofi. Born on September 17^th, 1975 in Manggarai-Indonesia, I was the youngest son of five children. I have three sisters (Gita Inut, Eri Inul, Sofia Selimut, and brother Dominikus Bebon). My father is named Dominikus Jehot and my mother is Katarina Kusem, and all of them live in Indonesia.

    I attended Primary School at Inpres Lareng Kuwus-Manggarai-NTT-Indonesia from 1983 to 1989. Secondary School and Middle School, Swasta Kemasyarakatan Ndoso Tentang Kuwus-Manggarai-NTT- Indonesia from 1990 to 1992 and High School, Negeri 2 Ruteng-Manggarai-NTT-Indonesia from 1993 to 1995.

    I entered the SVD-Novitiate on August 15, 2000 in Holy Spirit Novitiate Batu-Malang-East of Java-Indonesia.  I studied philosophy and graduated with Bachelor of Philosophy in 2006 at Widya Sasana Institute of Philosophy. I did my theological studies at Malang-East of Java-Indonesia and graduated with a Master of Theology in 2009, at Widya Sasana Institute of Philosophy and Theology,  Malang-East of Java-Indonesia. I professed my First Vows, on September 1^st, 2002, in “SURYA WACANA”  Major Seminary,  Malang-East of Java-Indonesia. I made my Final Vows on August 15^th, 2008, in “SURYA WACANA”  Major Seminary, Malang-East of Java- Indonesia. I was ordained as an SVD-priest on October 15^th, 2009, in Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel, Malang-East of Java-Indonesia by Msgr. Herman Yoseph Sahadat Pandoyoputro, O.Carm.  After that, I got my first assignment from SVD-General  Superior of Rome to the SVD-Southern Province, USA.

   In the United States, I stayed at Divine Word College, Epworth, Iowa from 2010-2012. From 2012-2015 I worked as an associate pastor at Immaculate Heart of Mary, Lafayette, LA. On July 1, 2015 I was assigned as the Associate Pastor at Holy Ghost Church in Opelousas. On July 7, 2021, I was appointed pastor of Our Mother of Mercy Parish.
